Any one who has ever been to Rocky Horror
Picture Show in a Movie Theater already has a mind set on what
they are in for. Truly a treat for Mature Audiences. It's
an interactive presentation of a cult classic based around the
plot of erotic aliens and pure naive earthlings who collide on
one rainy night due to a mishap. If you have never seen a grown
man in a corset, garters and 8 inch heels pull off pure sex
appeal, then you will be amazed. A veteran of The Rocky Horror
Picture Show from decades gone by I took a new comer to the
Biloxi Little Theaters presentation. Never having seen it myself
without the big screen I wasn't' quite sure how it would be on
just the stage. Within 2 minutes of the curtain opening I knew I
was at an astounding performance. The shock, awe and giggles
streaming steadily from the people around me let me know I
wasn't alone. Biloxi Little Theaters Cast and Crew did an
absolutely remarkable job and flat out nailed this one. (
no puns intended). Each and every cast member simply oozed
their characters persona and let it fly. having seen it myself
over 50 times in years past in various locations at movie
theaters, I knew every word to every line and just where certain
"extra" things should be added. What amazed me, was the Cast
here, actually brought the characters to life, this made the
entire experience new to me, and what a pleasure it was.
To rave about the cast just wouldn't be fair, you see each one
did such a wonderful job and I hate to leave anyone out. Ah but
what's fair about a review? Let's start with my personal
favorite. Dr Frankenfurter. How drop dead gorgeous can one man
be? See the show. Tim Curry stand back my man the torch has been
passed. Brad, from geek, to hot geek at the speed of
ripping clothes. Janet, my my, little miss innocence to every
mans dream in the time it takes to say, " Oh Brad". Riff, you
have never looked so good in pleather, Magenta, this part was
made for you. Columbia, for the first time I actually believe
you love Eddie, Rocky, well my my haven't we grown, and the
ravings go on and on. It is simply unbelievable that
a live only cast could pull this off in such a manner, that old
RHP vets and new-comers would both get the same level of sheer
awe from attending. So how did they do it? Does the director
have a magic wand? Not sure but I do know they have one heck of
a sonic oscillator and transit beam. Simply an absolute must see
for any RHP vet, and equally recommended for any newbies wanting
to find out what it's all about. Hat's, no heels off to
Director, Cast, Crew and Band.
Biloxi Little Theaters RHP received an
8 thumbs up out of a possible 8 thumbs in attendance for this
review
