The Annual
Crab Festival |
 |
|
Bay St
Louis |
|
Mississippi |
|
|
Every year the Annual Crab Festival is held at
Our Lady of the Gulf in beautiful and historic
Bay St. Louis right on the Beach. This year the
tradition was continued and the spirit and
warmth of this community is driven by it's
wonderful people.
- Directions-
Take Hwy 603 and head south to 90, at the
intersection proceed south.
When you get to the beach turn left, You will
find Our Lady of the Gulf Still standing and
ready for FUN this holiday weekend.
Loads of arts and Crafts Booths, great jewlery
deals, amazing candles, great clothes and then
of course what is one of the things Bay St.
Louis is so famous for ? It's art, like
the booth set up by Rick Moseley, son of the
Coast Treasure and famous artist Alice Moseley.
( read more about
Moseley at the bottom of this page
). Sporting about 9 or so
Carnival rides, like the scrambler, the big
yellow slide, swings, a ferris wheel, a couple
kiddie rides and more. The rides got good
reviews with short lines and affordable ticket
prices, but they were not the only thing going
at the Crab Festival.

Crab Roule' in the Bay
 |
If you have never heard of Crab
Roule' well let me give you a visual.
Looks like a cake walk booth, you walk
up and put down your money on a number,
but then in the middle of the booth is a
huge flat modified roullette type table,
or roule', but it of course does not
spin. But when they plop those crabs on
there, they run, and the first one who
reaches a Number has just picked the
winner. |
If you win on a $1 number you get $5
back, if you win on a $2 number you get
your choice, either $10, a T-shirt, or a
Flag that has flown over Congress with a
signed certificate. Unusual prize? Look
a the pictures and see if you can figure
out who the Crab Roule's annual booth
host is, then the prize will make
perfect sense.
Tons of fun and good times at this
popular fund raiser. Where F.E.B.
Distributing provided the signs, AMR (
American Medical Response) provided the
loud speaker, Bob's Crabs donated the
crabs and the Host provides the humor.
Definite crowd pleaser. |
