Fish Finder Charters Biloxi MS GCIS review 5/2005
Point Cadet Marina Biloxi Pier D Slip 2 Next to the Isle of Capri Casino 228-860-0314
May 2005, I decided to take a chance at something I had always wanted to do,
my husbands birthday was the perfect excuse for me to book a Charter Fishing Trip.
I called up Captain Mike Foto of Fish Finder Charters and the plan was set.  We met him at his boat at 7am right behind the Isle of Capri Casino in Biloxi, pier D slip 2, he had the boat clean, and the coolers iced up to hold our daily catches. I was already pumped up and ready to go. The ride out was simply gorgeous, passing the islands, watching the birds, I couldn't' help but kick my feet up and relax on the smooth ride with the radio playing. With only 2 of us on the boat plus the captain, he found our location " the sweet spot" started chumming the waters and then put those bait fish on the lines, after all 4 poles were set, we started a conversation and sat back, he told us the # for each pole and said grab it and reel if I call it out. That easy. Half way thru the first conversation, Captain Mike yelled out #3,  Lloyd reeled in the first catch in less than 5 minutes of it being cast out, it was a pretty Atlantic shark, aka sand shark, and from there on out IT WAS ON !. As they were taking that shark off the line, pole #1 got hit, by the time we got lines 1 and 3 back in line 2 was hitting.  Now I may just be naive, I have only fished of piers, bridges and boats in the back bay and rivers, but growing up with 4 big brothers I had to bait, cast and remove all the fish I caught if I wanted to go fishing.  Not with Captain Mike, he did it all, I felt like a member of the royal family being waiting on hand and foot.  Now he explained not every trip is going to catch the amount of fish in the short time we did, it all depends on the fish that day, just about then a hit on pole 1, that's one of the poles I was watching, and as I started bringing it in, it felt different we had caught 7 sharks by then including a black tip, so I knew what they felt like.  Just by watching my line, the good Capt told me I had a drum out there, when I got it to the boat I couldn't' believe it,  a good 25 pounder, now I think the record is like 44lbs but I can tell you I would need a strong drink if I would have had a red drum twice the size of the baby I brought in. We ended up catching 4 red drum, and I believe 9 sharks, between the 2 of us in a little less than 3 hours, WHAT A RUSH !! We of course released all that we didn't' want to keep for the freezer. The ride back was awesome totally satiated and relaxed it felt as if I had a weeks vacation in just a couple hours, watching the water and islands go by.  When we got back to the dock, we had Captain Mike go ahead and clean and bag the fish we had kept. He then told us about a local place right up the street from his boat that will cook your fresh catch. How could we not, so we invited the captain along to share in our booty, it was a delicious lunch. Now if you have been Charter Fishing before Give Captain Mike a try, if you haven't ever been, YOU HAVE TO GO, it's totally a thrill, I don't know how other Captains treat you but I can personally vouch for Captain Mike and Fish Finder Charters. I have told my story to a couple friends and they told me I am hooked, yeah I would go charter fishing every weekend as long as it was as relaxing, thrilling and fun as it was with Captain Mike aboard the Fish-Finder in Biloxi MS
